WBB: HBU faces off with McNeese on Senior Day
HOUSTON, TX- HBU women's basketball will celebrate their graduating seniors on the HBU careers Saturday as the matchup against the McNeese Cowgirls in the last home game of the season. Tip off is set for 2:00p.m. inside Sharp Gym with live video and stats available on HBUHuskies.com.
HBU (7-18, 2-13) is coming off a loss to Lamar Wednesday 49-97. The Huskies were led by
Lauren Calver and
Amanda Johnson. Calver got her ninth start of the season and proceeded to score a team high 15 points on 7-15 shooting to go with a team high five rebounds.
Amanda Johnson set a career milestone with 14 points passing 1,000 career points as a Husky.
Taylor Kollmorgen added a game high 8 rebounds.
McNeese (6-20, 4-11) has a versatile offense with the outside shooting of Callie Maddox and Regan Bolt and the paint work by Bre'Ashlee Jones. Maddox leads the team in scoring with 13 points a game followed by Bolt who is shooting 37 percent from three-point range. Jones 9.6 points per game also grabbing 6.1 rebounds per game.
HBU will next hit the road for the final two games of the season against Incarnate Word March 6 and Texas A&M Corpus Christi March 9.
