WBB: Women's Basketball Takes Aim at Sam Houston Saturday
HUNTSVILLE, TX- HBU women's basketball is prepped to take on Sam Houston State this Saturday at 4:30p.m. in the first game of the men's and women's double header.
HBU (7-16, 2-11) is coming off a loss to Northwestern State on Thursday night where freshman
Marilyn Nzoiwu recorded a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Lauren Calver added eight points and eight rebounds, while senior
Amanda Johnson inched closer to the 1,000 point mark for her career with 11 points.
Sam Houston (13-11, 8-6) has four players averaging in double-digits points scored. Jaylonn Walker is currently averaging 15 points and 3.3 rebounds to lead them followed by Jenniffer Oramas who averages 12.5 points and three rebounds per game. Amber Leggett and Lydia Baxter round out the scorers with 11.5 and 10.5 points a game respectfully. Baxter leads the Lady Bearkats in rebounds with 8.2 per game.
HBU will next return home to Sharp Gym to take on Lamar Feb. 27 and McNeese St. March 2Â
