WBB: HBU Gets Second Crack at Nicholls Saturday
HOUSTON, TX- HBU women's basketball gets a chance at avenging their earlier loss in the season to Nicholls Saturday at 2p.m. The Huskies dropped the first match in Thibodaux 54-77.
Amanda Johnson led HBU in scoring in the first matchup scoring 16 points on 7-15 shooting. Bryanna Washington led the Lady Colonels with 19 points and 10 rebounds on 9-15 shooting.
HBU (7-14, 2-9 SLC) is coming off a 58-77 loss against Central Arkansas Wednesday night.
Megan Valdez-Crader put up 15 points and six rebounds for the Huskies in the loss.
Amanda Johnson added 11 points on 5-7 shooting. Freshman
Marilyn Nzoiwu scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds off the bench.
Nicholls (13-10) is coming off a 66-76 loss to Abilene Christian on the road. The Lady Colonels are led by Cassidy Barrios who averages 20.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. Airi Hamilton follows her up with 8.5 points and 4 rebounds per game. Off the bench Tykeria Williams is putting up 12.2 points in Southland Conference play.
