HOUSTON, TX- HBU Men's Soccer team cliched a post season berth with a 2-0 win over Kansas City.
HBU (7-10, 5-6 WAC) was on the attack from the first whistle as
Jordi Cobo would get multiple dangerous chances in the early minutes of the game. The Huskies would eventually get on the board first as
Gianluca Natera pulled a hard shot into the lower right 90 past the keeper for the 1-0 lead in the 47th minute. HBU would pull back as the game continued until Hugo Von Reis would steal a pass and work a give and go with
Dequan Thomas to knock in the dagger goal in the 89th minute as the Huskies would win 2-0.
Jorge Cabrera got the shutout in goal tonight with a total of seven saves.
Teams combined for 35 shots in the game with Kansas City just edging HBU 18-17. The Huskies would end up with more shots on goal with 10 to the Roos seven. The Huskies earned nine corner kicks to Kansas City's one. HBU's Cobo would draw the only card with a yellow coming in the 30th minute.
