COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- HBU Men's Soccer team fell to Air Force Wednesday evening by a score of 3-2.
HBU (7-11) started by getting the lead early in the 9th minute as
Luis Poblacion scored his first goal of the season after a corner cleared out to him and his shot was able to find its way through multiple defenders and into the back of the net. Later in the game
Jordi Cobo would tie things up as a ball rebounded to him off the keepers hands and he finished it to tie the game at two. Poblacion, Cobo, and
Tim Ugo each had two shots on goal with
Gianluca Natera putting up one.
Jorge Cabrera was in goal for the Huskies making five total saves with a couple of great efforts to keep the Huskies in the game.
Air Force (8-10) had three different scorers on the night as London Aghedo, Lathan Spadafora, and Giuliano Daniel all found the back of the net. Spadafora was the first Falcon to score as he was assisted by Nick Blessing and Tyler Johnson. Aghedo would give Air Force the lead right before the first half. The game winner would come in the 87th minute as Daniel would find the back of the net after a pass from Elijah Bussey.
HBU finishes the season (7-11, 5-6 WAC) and making the WAC Men's Soccer Tournament for the first time in four seasons. The Huskies graduate six seniors and will bring back 20 players for the 2020 season. Be sure to check in on HBUHuskies.com for all the team's updates throughout the offseason.
