WBB: Huskies Take on #2 Baylor on the Road Tuesday Evening
WACO, TX- HBU Women's Basketball is set to begin a tough four game road stretch that begins when they take on #2 Baylor in the Ferrell Center November 14 at 6:00 P.M.
HBU (2-0) comes into the game on the heels of two strong performances outscoring their opponents 130-78. The Huskies defense has proven a strong point of the young season as they have forced an average of 31 turnovers a game. Leading the way for HBU is
Kennedy Wilson who is averaging 8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.
N'Denasija Collins backs her with 7.5 points and rebounds per game, while the Huskies have had strong offensive performances from
Lauren Calver and
Timia Jefferson who combined average 22 points a game.Â
Baylor (2-0) comes into the game with four of their five starters averaging double-digit points per game led by Nalyssa Smith who is averaging 21 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. Didi Richards follows her with a strong stat line of 10.5 points, 8.5 assists, and 4.5 steals a game. The Lady Bears come into the game out scoring their opponents 217-75 and boast the nation's longest active win streak dating back to last season. Baylor has also strung out 41 straight wins at home with their last loss coming in the 2016-17 season.
HBU will follow the game at Baylor with a matchup at cross town rival Houston November 17th at 2:00 P.M. The Huskies will then travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma November 23rd to take on Oral Roberts before heading to Wichita, Kansas to face off with Wichita State November 25th.
