HOUSTON - After a tight first three sets, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi scored six of seven points in the fourth for a comfortable cushion to down HBU, 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-17) in Southland Conference volleyball Saturday afternoon at Sharp Gym.
Junior outside hitter 
Mikayla Vivens and sophomore outside hitter 
Kelly Colwell each recorded a double-double, with Vivens going for 17 kills and 20 digs and Colwell 13 kills and 15 digs for the Huskies (12-11, 4-4 SLC). Junior middle blocker 
Megan Patillo registered 13 kills and four blocks, while sophomore middle blocker 
Ebonie Ballesteros had seven kills. Junior setter 
Morgan Dewyer dished out 43 assists, had 17 digs and three kills, while senior libero 
Hannah Lewis came up with 19 digs.
Chloe Simon led the Islanders (12-9, 5-3) with 19 kills to go along with 14 digs and Madison Green recorded a triple-double with 25 assists, 10 kills and 14 digs. Kylie Filipiak added nine kills and Madison Howard had eight. Faith Panhans had 22 assists and seven digs, Carissa Barnes led TAMU-CC defensively with 30 digs and Kaylee Payne chipped in with 15.
TAMU-CC hit .221, while HBU hit .175. The Islanders outdug the Huskies, 97-88, while HBU held a 7.0-5.0 advantage in blocks. The Huskies also had five aces, but 11 service errors, while the Islanders had three aces and three errors.
The Huskies continue their homestand by hosting Southeastern Louisiana for Dig Pink Thursday at 6:30 p.m., followed by Lamar on Homecoming Saturday at 10 a.m.
