WBB: HBU Ready for SLC Home Opener Against New Orleans

th at 2:00 p.m. in Sharp Gym. The Huskies dropped their first matchup in conference Wednesday at Lamar by a score of 50-63. HBU could not overcome turnovers even with
Megan Valdez-Crader scoring 19 points on 7-13 shooting.
HBU (5-6. 0-1 SLC) on the season have been shooting 40.4 percent from the field outshooting their opponents by 5 percent. This has led to the Huskies outscoring their opponents by an average of five points per game. HBU looks to cut down on the fouls and turnovers that hampered them in their last game against Lamar where the Huskies had season high totals in both categories
New Orleans (4-6, 0-1 SLC) is coming off a seven-point loss at home to Abilene Christian. The Privateers were outshot and outrebounded by the Wildcats of Abilene Christian in the loss. New Orleans was able to get some production off their bench with five points from Rehema Franklin and 12 points overall from the bench. The Privateers were led by Shania Woods who posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Huskies will then travel on the road Saturday Jan. 12 to Thibodaux, Louisiana to face off against the Nicholls State Colonels in David R. Stopher Gym at 1:00 p.m.
