WBB: Huskies and Cardinals Set for a Midweek Matchup
HOUSTON, TX- HBU women's basketball is set to open up a two game homestand against Incarnate Word this Wednesday at 7:00p.m. in Sharp Gym. Live stats and video will be available at HBUHuskies.com with Bill Cousins on the call.
HBU (6-11, 1-6 SLC) is coming off a tough loss against McNeese by a score of 71-81. In that game
Amanda Johnson was able to put up 26 points on 60 percent shooting from three-point range.
Megan Valdez-Crader was just shy of a triple double recording 17 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.
Natalia Gwarda added eight points and six rebounds.
Incarnate Word (2-16, 2-5 SLC) is coming off a home win against New Orleans by a score of 81-69. Imani Robinson led the way for the cardinals with 26 points and was followed up by Macy Ray who scored 21 of her own. Star Omazee is the team's leading rebounder averaging 6.2 a game. Omazee is also second on the team in scoring averaging 8.3 points per game just behind Robinson's 10.3 per game.
HBU will stay at home to face off against Texas A&M Corpus Christi in a home double header this Saturday beginning at 2:00p.m. The Huskies will then hit the road for a short trip to take on Stephen F. Austin before returning home once more to battle Central Arkansas and Nicholls.
