WBB: Huskies Head to Louisiana to Battle the Lady Lions

HAMMOND, La- HBU women's basketball begins a two game road trip Wednesday night against Southeastern Louisiana in Southland Conference play. Opening tip is set for 7:00p.m. in the University Center in Hammond, Louisiana.

HBU (6-9, 1-4 SLC) is looking to end a three game losing streak in which the Huskies have been outscored by an average of 15 points. The HBU offense has slowed down slightly in conference which has attributed to their recent skid. Even with this the Huskies have three players averaging double-digits in Southland Conference play. Leading the scoring for HBU is Megan Valdez-Crader who is scoring 13.2 points in conference play adding 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

Southeastern Louisiana (7-9, 2-3 SLC) is coming of back to back road losses against Lamar and McNeese. Celica Sterling is the Lady Lions leading scorer averaging 15.9 points per game. Caitlyn Williams paces the Lady Lions on the boards averaging 7 rebounds and adds 7.3 points per game.The Lady Lions are an experienced team that has five seniors and four juniors suited up for them. They will look to lean on their experience Wednesday night in Hammond.

HBU will next travel to Lake Charles to match up against the McNeese Cowgirls Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The Huskies will then return to Sharp Gym for a two game home stand against Incarnate Word and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
