HOUSTON- HBU's balanced attack proved too much for the Nicholls Colonels as the Huskies sweep Nichols 3-0, (25-17, 25-13, 25-18), in a Southland Conference matchup Saturday afternoon in Sharp Gym.

Mikayla Vivens records another double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs for the Huskies (8-8). Senior middle blocker
Kayla Davenport recorded 5 total blocks while hitting .333 with 5 kills and sophomore outside hitter
Ashtyn Richey had 5 kills and 3 blocks. Senior setter
Madison O'Brien had 28 assists and 4 kills leading the Huskies in hitting percentage with a .667. Freshman outside hitter
Jada Allen added 6 kills and sophomore defensive specialist
Makenna Davis had 6 digs and added 4 aces.
Kimberly Iwunze hit .308 with 6 kills and 2 digs for the Colonels (2-13). Aaliyah Burras had 7 kills and 2 blocks and Heidi Carpenter recorded 4 kills, 11 assists, and 7 digs. Jad Piper recorded 11 assists as well as 2 digs. Emily venable led the Colonels with 10 digs.
HBU hit .282 for the match and held Nicholls to .057. The Huskies outdug the Colonels, 35-31, and out-blocked them 18-8. The Huskies also had 11 service aces to Nicholls 2.
The Huskies return to action on the road in Nacogdoches to take on conference foes Stephen F. Austin Thursday Sept 27th at 6:30 p.m. The Huskies then travel up to Conway to face Central Arkansas Sept. 29 at 12:00 p.m.
