HOUSTON – Abilene Christian outgained HBU in rushing, 335-97, possessing the ball for nearly 13 more minutes for a 38-13 victory in Southland Conference football Saturday night at Husky Stadium.

Bailey Zappe completed 18-of-27 passes for 237 yards, one touchdown and an interception and also rushed for 33 yards for the Huskies (1-2, 0-2 SLC). Sophomore running back

David Racine had two catches for 87 yards and a touchdown. Freshman Jerreth Sterns led HBU with four catches.
Sophomore linebacker
Langston Tunson entered the game as the nation's leading tackler and finished with 18, the second-highest total in school history, after tying the record of 19 last week, and also added a fumble recovery. Senior linebacker

Ethan Beek each had nine stops, with Beek also recording his first career interception.
ACU (2-1, 1-0) had two players top 100 yards on the ground, with Tracy James carrying 19 times for 125 yards and Tyrese White carrying six times for 118 yards and a touchdown. Billy McCrary chipped in with 10 carries for 68 yards, a touchdown and added a short touchdown reception. Luke Anthony completed 25-of-37 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns, with Chase Cokley making six catches for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Jeremiah Chambers and Jack Gibbens each had eight tackles with Chambers also adding a sack and a pair of fumble recoveries. Brandon Richmond made seven tackles and Bolu Onifade had an interception for the Wildcats.
ACU finished with a 594-353 advantage in total yards and committed two turnovers to HBU's three.
The Huskies got off to a fast start, scoring on the second play of the game, as Zappe hooked up with Racine for an 80-yard touchdown. The extra point was not good and HBU led, 6-0. Racine has now accounted for three of the five longest receptions in program history.
ACU then scored 38 unanswered points, beginning with McCrary's five-yard touchdown reception, followed by his five-yard touchdown run to give the Wildcats a 14-6 lead heading into halftime.
The Wildcats turned the tables on the Huskies to begin the second half, with Anthony hitting Cokley for a 67-yard touchdown on the second play of the opening drive. Five minutes later, Taylor Williamson nailed a 49-yard field goal, then Anthony found Kalin Sadler for a 14-yard touchdown reception and White sealed the win for ACU with a 55-yard touchdown run with 11:11 left on the clock.
Freshman running back
Myles Lewis scampered in for an eight-yard touchdown run for the Huskies in the final five minutes.
HBU will have the week off next week, before returning to action with three-straight road games, beginning against FBS and American Athletic Conference foe SMU Saturday, Sept. 29, at 6 p.m. in Dallas.
