WBB: Huskies Host Oral Roberts Sunday Afternoon
HOUSTON- HBU women's basketball begins a short two game homestead this Sunday afternoon against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles. Oral Roberts is coming off a 73-62 win against Southland Conference team Sam Houston. The Huskies dropped a road matchup against Oklahoma State 44-77 their last time on the court.
HBU (4-4) has welcomed back the return of junior forward
Lauren Calver who is scoring 13.5 points per game coming off the bench and in HBU's last matchup scored 10 points on 4-9 shooting adding four rebounds. The Huskies also have three other players averaging in double figures scoring. Sophomore guard
Megan Valdez-Crader is one of those Huskies averaging 10 points a game, but she has done much more for the Huskies. Valdez-Crader is grabbing 4.3 rebounds per game and has a 3.63 assist to turnover ratio.
Oral Roberts (6-5) The Golden Eagles are led by Lakota Beatty and Keni Jo Lippe. Beatty is the teams leading scorer with 15.4 points a game adding 5.1 rebounds per game. Jo Lippe has put up 13.9 points a game and is grabbing 4.4 rebounds per game.
The Huskies have one more non-conference matchup left in the season against ULM Wednesday 12:00 p.m. at Sharp Gym before Southland Conference play begins Jan. 2 on the road against Lamar.
