WBB: HBU Set to Take on Texas A&M International Wednesday Night
HOUSTON, Texas- HBU Women's basketball welcomes Texas A&M International tomorrow night at 7p.m. in Sharp Gym. The Huskies (1-0) are coming off of a 92-41 win against Mcmurry in their season opener, while the DustDevils of Texas A&M International (0-2) is coming off a 62-57 loss to Black Hills State University. The Huskies were led Sunday evening by the return of redshirt sophomore Taylor Kollmorgen. Kollmorgen missed the 2017-18 season due to injury and returned in good fashion recording the first double-double of the season for the Huskies by scoring 14 points and snagging 10 rebounds in 14 minutes. Senior guard and Preseason All Southland Conference team member Amanda Johnson added 14 points on 67% shooting and Junior guard Shannon Jones added 14 points and 7 rebounds.
Texas A&M International had three players in double digits scoring in their last contest. Alliyah Bryant posted 14 points on 4-7 from beyond the arc. Tantashea Giger put up 12 points and 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Christine Ortega added 10 points and 7 rebounds on 50% shooting.
After the Huskies tilt with the DustDevils of Texas A&M International they will head off to Wichita, Kansas to face off against the Wichita State Shockers Nov. 17 at 2p.m. before they return home Nov. 21 against Howard Payne at 7p.m.
