RIVERSIDE, Calif. – HBU men's soccer took an early lead but California Baptist scored an equalizer in the second half before the game-winner came a minute and a half into the first overtime as the Huskies dropped a 2-1 Western Athletic Conference matchup at Lancer Soccer Field early on Sunday evening.
The action started quickly on Sunday, Oct. 28, as the Lancers (9-8-1, 5-5-0 WAC) managed a pair of shots in the first 2:09 of the game with Preston Judd putting an attempt on goal. HBU (5-7-3, 3-5-1 WAC) responded with three shots and a corner kick in a two-minute stretch. The match remained scoreless until the 26

Thomas Menke curled a shot inside the far post with an assist by
Nick Coburn. During the final 19 minutes of the first period, each team managed just one shot attempt with each off target.
CBU's Judd finished the game with six shots on goal for the Lancers with a pair of those coming in the first eight minutes of the second half. The Huskies'
Jordi Cobo had a shot attempt blocked at the 53:34 mark before Judd took one touch off a pass from Sebastian Wiesbock and beat the Huskies'

st minute. The Huskies were unable to get a shot on target in the second half as regulation ended even at 1-1.The Lancers then ended the game less than two minutes into the first overtime with Judd putting a header into the net.
HBU's lone shot on goal in the match was Menke's goal with the team's nine other attempts off target. The Lancers, meanwhile, took 15 shots with nine on goal. The goal was Menke's third of the season while Coburn now has a pair of assists. In goal, Cabrera finished the match with seven saves.
The Huskies will close out the 2018 regular season on Saturday, Nov. 3, with a trip to Kansas City, Mo. to face UMKC at 6:00 p.m.
