Junior guard
Amanda Johnson leads the Huskies (4-8, 0-2 SLC), shooting 45.6 percent from the floor and averaging 15.4 points and 5.8 rebounds a game. Sophomore guard
Sophie Taylor is shooting 31.7 percent from the floor and 31.4 percent (16-of-51) from the 3-point range, averaging 10.9 points and 3.4 rebounds. Junior center
Veronika Kirienko averages 7.9 points and 5.5 boards, while sophomore forward
Lauren Calver averages 7.4 points and 3.2 rebounds.
Nicholls (6-7, 1-1 SLC) is led by Cassidy Barrios, who is shooting 44.3 percent from the field and is averaging 14.9 points and 9.2 boards. She leads the team with 40 steals and 15 blocks. Tykeria Williams averages 12.5 points and 3.2 rebounds. Tia Charles contributes 8.2 points and leads the team with 42 assists.
The Huskies will begin a two-game road series, first battling Abilene Christian Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. Then they will make their way to Huntsville, Texas to take on Sam Houston State Saturday, Jan.13 at 3 p.m.
