HOUSTON – Former standout HBU basketball player Anthony Odunsi will be playing for the Nigerian national team in the 2017 FIBA AfroBasket championship of African nations, a continental championship tournament being hosted in Tunisia and Senegal from Sep. 8 through Sep. 16.

http://www.fiba.basketball/afrobasket/2017/games. Nigeria won the 2015 tournament, earning an automatic qualification for the 2016 Olympics.
In two seasons at HBU, Odunsi averaged 15.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game and finished his career ranked seventh all-time in free throw percentage, connecting at an 81.3 percent clip. He was the first HBU player to earn All-Southland Conference honors and during his senior season, he led the Huskies with 17.5 points per game for the season and improved that to 20 points per game in conference play.
