KINGSVILLE – While three of the five matches needed three sets to decide the outcome, HBU was still able to pull off a 5-0 sweep of Texas A&M-Kingsville in beach volleyball Wednesday at the Javelina Beach Courts.
"This match provided us with some great challenges," HBU associate head coach
Cameron Sitler said. "We were forced to fight for every point along the way. Our team fought adversity, which forced us to lean on our teammates in order to find the win. We are looking forward to heading to LSU this weekend."

Tori Hinojosa had to rally past Gabby Atchley and Kelby Sprinkles, 17-21, 22-20, 15-12.

Bailey Banks also had to come from behind to take down TAMU-K's Kat Evans and Kadi Shipman, 13-21, 21-16, 18-16. The Huskies' no. 4 team of freshman

Taylor Livoti were able to get past Morgan Broussard and Madison Brabham in two, 22-20 and 21-13. In the no. 5 match, seniors
Tiffany Thomas and
Morgan McDaniel held off Haley Hutchison and Maelee Sowa, 21-13, 15-21, 15-7. HBU also won the alternate match, with sophomore
Madison O'Brien and freshman
Hannah Lewis edging Madeline Sims and Marci Shipman, 16-21, 21-16, 15-11.
HBU competes in the Tiger Beach Invitational hosted by eighth-ranked LSU Saturday and Sunday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Huskies face Florida Gulf Coast Saturday at 2 p.m., followed by Florida International at 6 p.m. On Sunday, HBU takes on North Florida at 11 a.m., then Spring Hill College at 3 p.m.
