GULF SHORES, Alabama – HBU beach volleyball swept Austin Peay, 5-0, rebounding from the morning's 3-2 setback to Spring Hill at the Badger Beach Bash Saturday.
"It was great to see our team bounce back from the morning matches," HBU associate head coach
Cameron Sitler said. "The team is making big strikdes as we get more match experience. Our next matches allow us an opportunity to play some established beach programs."
Against Austin Peay, the Huskies' no. 1 team of senior

Aeriel Horton downed Ginny Gerig and Kristen Stucker, 21-14, 21-14. In the No. 2 match, HBU senior

Tori Hinojosa defeated APSU's MiMi Arrington and Jenna Panning, 21-13, 21-8. HBU's no. 3 team of junior
Bailey Banks and senior
Melissa Fuchs defeated APSU's Kaitlyn Teeter and Christina White, 21-14, 21-17. HBU seniors
Morgan McDaniel and
Tiffany Thomas outlasted APSU's Allie O'Reilly and Kaylee Taff, 21-18, 17-21, 15-7. In the no. 5 match, HBU senior
Taylor Livoti and freshman
Danielle Wheeler won over APSU's April Adams and Ashley Slay, 21-17, 21-15. The Huskies also won the alternate match, with sophomore
Madison O'Brien and freshman
Hannah Lewis taking a 21-12, 21-14 decision over Cecily Gable and Allie Thorton.
HBU dropped a close decision to host Spring Hill in the morning, but won at the top two positions. Wooten and Horten held off Madie Seuzeneau and Julie Vujnovich, 14-21, 21-16, 15-12. Armer and Hinojosa also need three sets to defeat SHC's Savannah Becnel and Molly Griffin, 23-25, 21-13, 15-10. In the no. 3 match, SHC's Brittany Bilotti and Sarah Senft downed Banks and Fuchs, 21-8, 21-19. SHC's Caroline Herrera and Hannah Masoner clipped McDaniel and Thomas, 22-20, 21-16. SHC's Taylor Hurst and Cat Milwee held off Livoti and Wheeler, 15-21, 21-19, 15-12. In the alternate match, SHC's Payton Gidney and Emily Greim outlasted O'Brien and Lewis, 21-15, 18-21, 15-13.
The Huskies will finish off the tournament Sunday with a pair of match, first against Tulane at 10 a.m., followed by Florida Atlantic 1 p.m.
