El Paso, Texas – HBU women's basketball fell at UTEP Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's basketball at Don Haskins Center in El Paso, 69-62.

Donna Finnie stated. "They gave everything they had and played smart basketball. We did a much better job executing our offense and we got an incredible game from Amanda, who showed she wants to carry this team."
The Huskies (2-4) were led by junior guard
Amanda Johnson, who shot 57.9 percent from the field. For the third time this season Johnson has shot in double digits, putting up 26 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Sophomore guard
Sophie Taylor shot 27.8 percent from the floor, racking up 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Sophomore guard
Britta Daub contributed with seven points, while junior forward
Brooklyn Moore grabbed six rebounds.
Tamara Seda led the Miners (5-1) with a double-double, posting 18 points and 16 rebounds. Najala Howell put up 19 points and seven rebounds, while Roeshonda Petterson chipped in with 11 points.
The Miners shot 42.5 percent from the floor, 10-of-21 from the 3-point line and 15-of-21 from behind the line, while the Huskies shot 36.1 percent, 4-of-21 from behind the arc and 10-of-18. The Huskies were outrebounded 44-32.
The Huskies return home for back-to-back games, starting Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. against Paul Quinn, before battling Huston Tillotson at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.
