HOUSTON – HBU dropped the first of its four-match homestand to league-leading Central Arkansas, 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-16), in Southland Conference volleyball Thursday night at Sharp Gym.

Bailey Banks had 13 kills and eight digs, while senior outside hitter
Jessica Wooten had 12 kills and nine digs for the Huskies (17-9, 8-5 SLC). Redshirt freshman right side
Ashtyn Richey added seven kills and junior middle blocker

Abby Gargus dished out 33 assists and had eight digs, senior libero
Hailey Erickson had 11 digs and sophomore defensive specialist
Hannah Lewis had eight digs.
Samantha Anderson led the Sugar Bears (23-3, 12-2) with 11 kills and four blocks, while Amanda Beaton had eight kills. Megan Nash chipped in with seven kills and four blocks. Elizabeth Armstrong handed out 31 assists and Amanda Dimon had 17 digs.
UCA hit .278 for the match, while holding HBU to .171. The Huskies held the advantage in digs, 51-45, but the Sugar Bears led in blocks, 9-6, and aces, 6-1.
The Huskies return to action when they host Northwestern State Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sharp Gym.
