CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – HBU's offense couldn't shake off the rust after a week off as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi claimed a 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-17) victory in Southland Conference volleyball Thursday night at Dugan Wellness Center.

Jessica Wooten led the Huskies (17-7, 8-3 SLC) with nine kills and 12 digs, while the league leader in kills, senior outside hitter
Bailey Banks, was held to three. Redshirt freshman right side
Ashtyn Richey had six kills and senior middle blocker
Blair Gillard added five and three blocks. Junior setter
Madison O'Brien handed out 21 assists and senior libero
Hailey Erickson had 11 digs.
Madison Green led the Islanders (10-13, 7-5) with 12 kills and Simon had 10. Brittany Gilpin had six kills and tied for the team lead with 12 digs. Kristyn Nicholson had 29 assists and 10 digs and Madison Woods contributed 12 digs.
TAMU-CC hit .235, while holding HBU to an .088 attack percentage. The Islanders held a sizeable advantage in digs, 53-38, while the Huskies led in blocks, 5-3, and aces, 6-5.
The Huskies return to action when they play their final road match of the season against Incarnate Word Saturday at 11 a.m. in San Antonio.
