NATCHITOCHES, La. – The HBU women's soccer team enters its final two road matches of the season, at Northwestern State and Central Arkansas, just two points out of first place in the Southland Conference standings.

The Huskies (5-4-2, 4-1-1 SLC) will face Northwestern State (5-8-0, 1-5-0 SLC) on Friday evening in Natchitoches, La. at 7:00 p.m. before continuing on to Conway, Ark. to take on Central Arkansas (7-7-0, 4-2-0 SLC) on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

In its only contest last week, HBU defeated Incarnate Word 5-0 at Sorrels Field on Friday evening to extend its unbeaten streak to five matches. Junior Autumn Wildung scored a pair of goals in the win while Sabriah Spencer added a goal and an assist. Senior defender Casey Basso was named the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the shutout, which included a goal on a corner kick. The Huskies opened Southland play with three consecutive road matches, at Abilene Christian, Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State, coming out of that stretch with a 2-1-0 record.

For the season, senior Ellee Hall is pacing the Huskies and tied for the conference lead with seven goals. Her four game-winning goals are second-best in the league. For her career, Hall now has 56 points (22g, 12a) which places her fourth on the all-time scoring list at HBU and just one points out of third. Wildung and junior Gabby Rodriguez are tied for second on the team with three goals and Spencer leads all Huskies with three assists. Junior Alanis Guevara now has four shutouts in goal with a .848 save percentage, fourth-best in the league.

Despite their 5-8 overall record, the Lady Demons have out-scored their opponents this season, 30-29. Junior Brittany Caserma is tied with HBU's Hall for tops in the conference with seven goals while freshman Gabriella Gamboa has netted five. Senior Alex Latham has started every match between the pipes for NSU with a 2.12 goals against average and a save percentage of .726. The Huskies are 2-2-1 all-time against the Lady Demons.

Central Arkansas plays Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday ahead of the matchup with the Huskies. UCA's Lauren Mercuri owns a 7-4-0 record in goal with a 1.08 goals against average and an .824 save percentage. Senior Dayna Mounie leads the Bears with 10 points (4g, 2a) while senior Alex Moore is second with eight (2g, 4a). Both of Moore's goals have been game-winners. HBU is 3-2-0 all-time against the Bears, including last year's 2-0 SLC tournament semifinals victory.

The Huskies will close out the regular season with three matches at home at Sorrels Field before the SLC Tournament in Corpus Christi beginning Nov. 1.
