HOUSTON – Game two of a three-game homestand for the HBU Huskies brings the McNeese Cowboys to Sharp Gym for a Southland Conference matchup on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. in Sharp Gym. As always, Husky fans can listen to the action live thanks to the Legacy Sports Network audio broadcast with Lonnie King available at HBUHuskies.com.

Both HBU (6-7, 2-1 SLC) and McNeese (5-9, 2-1 SLC) enter the contest tied for third in the conference standings with a 2-1 mark in SLC play. McNeese won their only other conference road game so far this season, taking down Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. In overtime by a 79-72 margin. HBU's only home conference game so far was Thursday night's 81-74 victory over Southeastern Louisiana.

In their win over Southeastern, the Huskies were led by senior Colter Lasher with 22 points, bringing him within 19 points of reaching 1,000 for his career. Junior center Josh Ibarra added 16 points and eight rebounds for HBU while Braxton Bonds and Alex Fountain added 11 and 10 points, respectively. The Huskies held the Lions to 37.7 percent shooting for the game while connecting on higher than 45 percent of their shots.

The Huskies are currently 87th in the nation in scoring offense, averaging 78.2 points per game while shooting above 45 percent from the field. HBU also ranks 32nd in NCAA Division I in offensive rebounding, grabbing 13.46 offensive boards per outing. Lasher is scoring an average of 15.5 points, good for the ninth-best mark in the conference. Reveal Chukwujekwu has posted double-doubles in three of the last five games and is averaging 11.7 and a team-best 7.2 rebounds.

Senior Jamaya Burr is pacing the Cowboys with 11.3 points and 4.1 assists per game. Kalob Ledoux and Jarren Greenwood both average 10.1 points per contest while Stephen Ugochukwu is pulling down 7.3 boards on average. For the season, McNeese is averaging 70.4 points and allowing opponents to score 81.4 but has clamped down defensively in conference play, allowing just 66.7 points per game so far.

McNeese dropped their last outing, 74-67, at home to Sam Houston State. The Cowboys were out-rebounded 51-35 in the loss, including 19 on the offensive end by SHSU. Lance Potier led the way for McNeese with 18 points and 10 rebounds. James Harvey and Kalob Ledoux both added 13 in the losing effort.

The Huskies are 4-14 all-time against the Cowboys but have won the last two meetings. HBU earned a nine-point win last year in Sharp Gym and won by eight in Lake Charles, La. during the 2014-15 season. Ibarra put up a double-double in last season's win, posting 17 points and 10 rebounds while Fountain added 10 and eight.

HBU's current homestand concludes on Thursday, Jan. 12 against Central Arkansas with an 8:00 p.m. tip-off in Sharp Gym. That game will be broadcast by the American Sports Network.
