ARLINGTON, Texas – HBU volleyball got off to a fast start by taking the first set, but New Mexico rebounded over the next three for a 3-1 (21-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-19) victory to snap the Huskies' five-match winning streak in the opener of the UTA Invitational Friday afternoon at College Park Center.

Bailey Banks had a monster effort with 20 kills and 10 digs, while senior outside hitter
Melissa Fuchs added 10 kils and nine digs for HBU (8-5). Senior middle blocker Ashlee Van recorded nine kills, and senior setter
Kayla Armer posted 34 assists, five kills and eight digs. Junior libero
Hailey Erickson led the Huskies defensively with a match-high 17 digs.
Cassie House led UNM (7-3) with 11 kills and six blocks, while Victoria Spragg had four kills and nine blocks. Julia Warren chipped in with nine kills and 12 digs, while Carson Heilborn had 28 assists and six digs and Ashley Kelsey had 10 digs.
The Lobos hit .157 for the match, while the Huskies hit only .134. HBU had a huge advantage in digs, 59-38, but UNM had 14 blocks to HBU's six and 12 aces to the Huskies' four.
The Huskies will play a pair of matches to complete the tournament Saturday, first taking on host UT Arlington at noon, followed by Samford at 4:30 p.m.
