CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The HBU beach volleyball team split a pair of matches, falling 5-0 to TCU and defeating Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon at Dugan Family Stadium.
"Today was a great opportunity for us to get right back to it," head coach
Trent Herman said. "We had some really close matches with TCU. Then, we faced (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) for the second time in two days and got the result, 3-2.
"I am really excited about the progression of the girls and this program as we continue to move forward in our inaugural season."
After falling to the Horned Frogs (10-4) in their first match of the day, tandems

Bailey Banks and
Madison O'Brien, and
Haley Durham and
Guinevere Meyer, all picked up victories for HBU (4-4). Banks and O'Brien swept their matchup against the Islanders (1-6) in straight sets, while Horton and Wooten, and Durham and Meyer claimed 2-1 victories.
HBU will next participate in the Green Wave Beach Invitational, hosted by Tulane in New Orleans, across April 8-9.
