CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The HBU beach volleyball team fell 3-2 at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday afternoon at Dugan Family Stadium.
"Today was a really good match for us," head coach
Trent Herman said. "We didn't get the result, but to be here for (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi)'s first-ever home match and be in the elements with 25-plus mile per hour winds was something we've never played in before and was important for girls to go through."

Laura Fox each picked up wins for the Huskies (3-3). Armer and Fox won in straight sets against the Islanders (1-5), while Horton and Wooten claimed a 2-1 victory.
The win for TAMU-CC, playing its inaugural home opener, marked the first win for the program.
HBU will look to bounce back with two matches on Saturday, participating in TAMU-CC's host tournament. The Huskies will face TCU in a 10 a.m. first serve, before facing the Islanders at 1:30 p.m.
