The Huskies (16-14, 10-7 SLC) are coming off an 81-71 loss against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday to close out their home schedule inside Sharp Gym. Senior
Anthony Odunsi led HBU with 17 points and a game-high seven rebounds. Odunsi finished 3-for-10 from the field with one 3-pointer and a perfect 10-for-10 showing at the free throw line, marking the seventh 1.000 free throw percentage performance in program history and second for both Odunsi and HBU this season.
The Huskies, who rank 26th in the country in field goal percentage (.479), lead the conference in defensive rebounding (26.3), sit second in field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense (.431), third in scoring (77.1 per game) and fourth in blocks (4.2 per game).
In league play, sophomore
Josh Ibarra leads all in field goal percentage (.686), while Odunsi ranks third in scoring (19.9 per game). On the season, Ibarra leads the SLC from the field (.631) and senior
Jourdan Stickler sits second in 3-point field goal percentage (.439). Odunsi, who is third in the league in scoring (17.6 per game), ranks second at the NCAA Division I level in free throw attempts (264) and third in free throws made (223).
Freshman
Isaiah Robinson is third in the SLC in blocks (2.1 per game), sitting fifth in the country among all freshman and 35th overall. He is also tied for 13th among freshman with 49 total blocks.
The Cardinals enter the weekend at 16-12 overall (11-6 SLC) under head coach Ken Burmeister. UIW, which leads the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.376) and ranks second in free throw percentage (.762), is led in scoring by senior Kyle Hittle (16.0 per game) and sophomore Jontrell Walker (12.6 per game). Walker leads the country in free throw percentage (.932).
Following Saturday's tilt, HBU will next compete in the 2016 Southland Conference Tournament. The Huskies, having already secured the No. 4 seed, will play the winners of the fifth and eight seeds in a 5 p.m. tip on Thursday broadcast on ESPN3.
