FORT WORTH, Texas – The HBU beach volleyball team split a pair of matches in the Fight at the Fort, falling 5-0 to No. 2 Florida State and defeating Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 4-1, on Saturday at the TCU Volleyball Courts.
 
The Huskies (3-1) bounced back from their opening match loss against FSU (11-0) to defeat TAMU-CC (0-4) for the third time in three days. HBU also took two matches from the Islanders in the inaugural season opener for both programs on March 17.
 
Tandems Aeriel Horton and Jessica Wooten, and Melissa Fuchs and Ashlee Vann picked up wins in straight sets over the Islanders, while Madison O'Brien and Bailey Banks, and Hailey Erickson and Laura Fox were victorious in 2-1 decisions for the Huskies.
 
HBU will close their participation in the tournament, facing host TCU in an 11 a.m. first serve Sunday.
