The Huskies (14-8, 8-1 SLC), 10-0 at home, are coming off their first loss in Southland Conference play, falling 79-72 at Abilene Christian on Tuesday. Senior
Anthony Odunsi recorded his seventh 20-point game of the season, posting a game-high 22 points and eight rebounds. Junior
Colter Lasher recorded 14 points, with 12 coming in the second half, while sophomore
Josh Ibarra and junior
Cody Stetler finished with 10 and eight points, respectfully. The loss ended a 10-game winning streak for HBU.
The perfect record to this point in Sharp Gym is the best start for the program since the 2006-07 season, when the Huskies finished 13-0 on their home court.
Statistically, HBU is first in the SLC in scoring (78.8 per game) and second in both field goal percentage (.475) and rebounding (38.8 per game). In SLC play, sophomore
Josh Ibarra leads all in field goal percentage (.714), while junior
Alex Fountain holds the mark in free throw percentage (.909) and Odunsi ranks third in scoring (20.4 points per game). On the season as a whole, Ibarra leads the league from the field (.641), sits fourth in blocks (1.4 per game) and seventh in rebounding (6.6 per game), while Odunsi ranks fourth in scoring (17.0 per game) and is sixth at the NCAA Division I level with 149 made free throws and 12th with 180 attempts.
Freshman
Isaiah Robinson leads the conference in blocks (2.25 per game), sitting second in the country among all freshman and 29th overall.
The Lumberjacks enter the weekend at 15-5 overall (8-0 SLC) under head coach Brad Underwood and are a half-game ahead of the Huskies in the standings. SFA leads the country in turnover margin (6.4 per game) and ranks fourth in assists (18.8). Senior Thomas Walkup leads the 'Jacks in scoring (16.5 points per game), field goal percentage (.589) and assists (4.4 per game), while senior Clide Geffrard averages 6.3 rebounds per contest. Senior Trey Pinkney and Walkup each average 1.7 steals per game.
