HOUSTON – Down the stretch of the regular season, HBU enjoys home cooking for three of the final four games. Commencing that stretch is a return matchup with Southland Conference leader Abilene Christian Wednesday at 7 p.m. from Sharp Gym.

ACU leads the all-time series, 4-0, and defeated the Huskies, 77-60, last month in Abilene.

In HBU's (12-12 overall, 7-7 SLC) last game, Monet Neal forced an offensive charge late with HBU down by one at Incarnate Word, then scored the go-ahead basket with 69 seconds left in regulation as the Huskies defeated the Cardinals, 62-61, last Thursday in San Antonio. Anna Strickland posted her 19th double-double of the season with game highs of 16 points, 12 rebounds, and five steals. The five steals tied her career high. Rachel Arthur shot 50 percent from the floor to score 11 points, while Lisa Zderadicka came off the bench to drop 10 and tie her career high of six rebounds. On the season, Strickland continues to lead the SLC - and is T-3rd and 4th nationally, respectively - in rebounding (13.4) and double-doubles. She is in the Top-5 in the SLC in blocks (1.7) and steals (2.3). As a team, HBU is fifth in the SLC in both scoring offense (65.2) and scoring defense (64.2).

ACU (22-3, 13-1) ran its winning streak to four after surviving Southeastern Louisiana, 72-70, Sunday. Alexis Mason is third in the SLC with 17.4 points per game and leads the conference with 2.9 three-pointers made per game. Her 33.8 percentage from long range puts her seventh in the SLC. The top rebounder for the Wildcats is Sydney Shelstead, who averages 7.6 boards per contest. Suzzy Dimba leads the team in assists (67), blocks (41), and steals (60), ranking in the top five in blocks (1.6 per game) and steals (2.4). ACU leads the SLC in scoring offense (76.3) and is third in scoring defense (61.6).

Following the game, HBU hits the road one final time in the regular season to face Stephen F. Austin in an ESPN3 tilt on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. HBU currently sits in fifth place in the SLC standings while SFA is third.
