Colter Lasher poked away the ball from Cardinal guard Kevin Booze and dribbled out the clock to give the Huskies their first victory since Jan. 30, snapping a four-game skid. With the win, HBU moves into a tie with Sam Houston State for third place in the Southland Conference.
Statistically, HBU is first in the SLC in defensive rebounding (27.1 per game), second in field goal percentage (.476), third in scoring (77.8 per game) and fourth in free throw percentage (.717), rebounding (37.7 per game) and blocks (4.3 per game). In league play, sophomore
Josh Ibarra leads all in field goal percentage (.686) and junior
Alex Fountain holds the mark in free throw percentage (.938), while Odunsi ranks third in scoring (20.0 per game). On the season as a whole, Ibarra leads the league from the field (.631), also ranking fifth in both blocks (1.4 per game) and rebounds (6.6 per game). Odunsi sits fourth in scoring (17.3 per game), and is fifth at the NCAA Division I level with 183 made free throws and sixth with 217 attempts.
Freshman
Isaiah Robinson is tied for third in the SLC in blocks (2.2 per game), sitting third in the country among all freshman and 35th overall. Robinson is also tied for 16th among freshman with 41 total blocks.
The Wildcats enter the weekend at 11-14 overall (6-6 SLC) under head coach Joe Golding and sit sixth in the standings. ACU, which is third in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (.358) and fourth in steals (7.8 per game), is led offensively by freshman Jaylen Franklin, who averages 15.9 points per game and 17.6 in SLC play. Senior Parker Wentz leads the Southland in 3-point field goal percentage (.456), while senior Duran Porter is second in field goal percentage (.603). The Wildcats defeated the Huskies, 79-72, on Feb. 2 in Abilene, Texas.
