Anthony Odunsi went to the line with three seconds left and knocked down the game-winning free throw, as HBU closed the month of January with a perfect 9-0 record. With the win, the Huskies picked up their 10th straight victory and improved to 10-0 at home on the season. The perfect record to this point in Sharp Gym is the best start for the program since the 2006-07 season, when HBU finished 13-0 on its home court, while the 10 straight victories is the most since the 2004-05 squad's 13-game run. Overall, the Huskies are off to their best start since transitioning back to the NCAA Division I level prior to the 2007-08 season.
Statistically, HBU is first in the SLC in scoring (79.1 per game) and second in both field goal percentage (.475) and rebounding (39.1 per game).
In SLC play, sophomore
Josh Ibarra leads all in field goal percentage (.690), while Odunsi ranks third in scoring (20.3 per game). On the season as a whole, Ibarra sits second in the league from the field (.628), fourth in blocks (1.5 per game) and fifth in rebounding (6.9 per game), while Odunsi ranks fourth in scoring (16.8 per game) and is tied for seventh at the NCAA Division I level with 139 made free throws. Alex Fountain leads the SLC in free throw percentage (.909).
Freshman
Isaiah Robinson leads the conference in blocks (2.25 per game), sitting third in the country among all freshman and 30th overall.
The Wildcats enter the week at 9-12 overall (4-4 SLC) under head coach Joe Golding and are coming off an 80-71 win over Lamar on Saturday. Freshman Jaylen Franklin leads ACU with 15.4 points and 2.0 steals per game.
Following Tuesday's tilt, HBU will host Stephen F. Austin in a 7 p.m. tip on Saturday inside Sharp Gym.
