EVANSTON, Ill. – The HBU men's basketball team has one more game before the Christmas break, facing off against Big Ten foe Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. The game will be available via Legacy Sports Network live audio broadcast with Lonnie King, available at HBUHuskies.com, or on Big Ten Network Plus.

The Huskies (4-5) are fresh off a 103-77 victory over Arlington Baptist, a game which featured a tightly-contested first half in which the Patriots made 13 of their first 17 shots. HBU took a three-point lead into the half and a second half in which the Huskies shot higher than 70 percent from the floor led to the 26-point win.

Senior Colter Lasher tied a career-high with 28 points, knocking down 12-18 shots. Reveal Chukwujekwu set new career-highs in both points and rebounds, finishing with a double-double of 21 points and 14 boards. Josh Ibarra added 13 and Alex Fountain contributed 10 while Braxton Bonds dished out a career-best seven assists without a single turnover.

HBU has been among the nation's best teams on the offensive glass, ranking 24th among NCAA Division I teams with 13.89 offensive rebounds per game. The Huskies are averaging 82.4 points per game, good for the 41st-hightest average in the country.

Northwestern (10-2) has won seven games in a row, most recently defeating IUPUI by a score of 87-65. The Wildcats had six players reach double-digits in scoring in that game and blocked 12 shots. For the season, Northwestern is seventh in the nation with seven blocked shots per game.

The Wildcats' top four scorers all came in in the same recruiting class with junior Scottie Lindsey averaging 14.6 per game while redshirt sophomore Vic Law adds 13.9. Junior point guard Bryant McIntosh is averaging 12.4 points and 5.4 assists. So far this season, the Wildcats are out-scoring opponents by 13.7 points and shooting above 45 percent from the floor.

HBU and Northwestern have met once before, in the opening game of the 2014-15 season in Evanston. The Huskies led that game 31-28 at the half but the Wildcats pulled away late in the second half for a 65-58 final. Colter Lasher and Cody Stetler, both sophomores at the time, each finished that game with six points.

The Huskies return after the holidays to open Southland Conference play on Thursday, Dec. 29 in Huntsville against Sam Houston State at 6:30 p.m.
