AUSTIN – No. 8/6 Texas used its rebounding advantage to score 24 second-chance points on its way to a 98-46 victory over HBU in non-conference women's basketball Wednesday afternoon at the Erwin Center.
"I'm just really proud of my kids today, I thought we battled hard for 40 minutes," HBU head coach
Donna Finnie said. "When you run up against a Top 10 team, handling pressure for 40 minutes is tough, but our kids didn't back down. We had some goals today facing another Top 10 team and I think in some aspects we got better. For us, it's always been about getting better everyday en route to conference play and I think some of our kids really stepped up today and we did some things really well."
