Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

MSOC: Huskies Stopped by Seattle, 5-0

Chance Pope made five saves on the night.



SEATTLE, Washington – HBU soccer couldn't find a rhythm, while Seattle finds the back of the net five times in the 5-0 loss in a Western Athletic Conference matchup, Saturday night at Championship Field.
 
The game was scoreless until Seattle's (8-4-0, 4-0-0 WAC) Alex Roldan cleaned up a loose ball in the six yard box, in the 35th minute. In the 56th minute of the match, Sam Langston fed the ball to Julio Rubio, who flicked it on to Sergio Rivas, where he finished it first time to the left side of the net. The Huskies (3-7-1, 1-3-0 WAC) drew a foul in the box during the 61st minute which Langston capitalized on, making the deficit 3-0. In the 84th minute, Cody Buchanan had his shot blocked and Medo Youssef capitalized on the rebound by finding the back of the net. Three minutes later the final goal was scored by Buchanan from a cross by Tyler John.
 
The Huskies were led offensively by senior midfielder Erick Aragon and sophomore forward Lucas de Paula as they each had one shot on goal for the team's total of two. Sophomore goalkeeper Chance Pope took home the loss after he made five saves with five goals against.
 
Buchanan and Joe Harris led Seattle with two shots on goal each out of the team's total of ten. Jordan Hadden stood between the pipes for 82 minutes making two saves and was relieved for the final eight minutes by Pat Clifford who was not called upon to make any saves.
 
The Huskies will travel to San Jose, California for the WAC match up against San Jose State, at 2:30 p.m. CDT.
