ABILENE, Texas- A big first half was enough for Abilene Christian to send HBU soccer home with a 3-0 loss in the Southland Conference matchup, Friday night at Elmer Gray Stadium.

The first half showed fatal for HBU (5-7-1, 3-2-1 SLC) as Abilene Christian (5-7-2, 4-1-1 SLC) scored three goals in a span of ten minutes. The first goal for the Wildcats came from Chantal Kinsey's head from a punch clearance from junior goalkeeper
Katie Turner. Natalie Throneberry was credited with the assist in the 15
th minute of the match. One minute later, Chloe Fifer found the back of the net from about 25 yards out into the upper 90. The Wildcat's third goal came from a set piece as Kelsie Roberts utilized her head to capitalize on a corner kick from Throneberry in the 25
th minute.

Ellee Hall led the Huskies offensively as they each recorded two shots on goal. Senior midfielder
Allison Abendschein tallied one shot on goal as well, to round out the team's total of five. Turner and sophomore goalkeeper
Alanis Guevara split time in goal, with Turner taking the loss as she made four saves with three goals against. Guevara was able to shutout the Wildcats for the second half while she made three saves.

The two Wildcats that led the team in shots on goal was Dylan Owens and Brooke Lenz each recorded two out of the team's ten. Sydney Newton played all 90 minutes in the net, she made five saves to shut out the Huskies.

The Huskies will return home to Sorrels Field on Friday, as they take on Southland member Central Arkansas at 7 p.m.
