HOUSTON - The HBU men's basketball team will look to build upon their current nine-game win streak and maintain their pace atop the Southland Conference leaderboard, hosting Sam Houston State for "Retro Night" at 7 p.m. on Monday inside Sharp Gym. A video and audio broadcast with Lonnie King will be available on HBUHuskies.com, beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show.

The Huskies will wear throwback uniforms in homage to the program's look during the 1974-75 season and fans are encouraged to dress in their retro garb as well.

HBU will also join the battle against cancer by partaking in the NABC's Coaches vs. Cancer initiative. Head coach Ron Cottrell and his staff will be wearing Nike shoes with gold laces to celebrate Suits and Sneakers Awareness Week (1/25-31), and raise awareness about the fight against cancer. The gold laces signify the Huskies' participation in Princess Lacey's Laces, named in honor of Michigan State fan and eight-year-old cancer patient Lacey Holsworth who developed a special relationship with the Spartans' Adreian Payne last season and garnered much national media attention.

HBU is coming off a 109-84 victory over Hillsdale Baptist in the team's non-conference finale. Senior Jourdan Stickler hit six 3-pointers and turned in a career-high 22 points, as seven Huskies scored in double figures. Stickler's finished 6-for-6 showing from beyond the arc ties the program's mark for 3-point field goal percentage at a 1.000 efficiency, as Baron Sauls turned in a 6-for-6 performance at Villanova on Dec. 4, 2008.

With the win, HBU picks up its ninth straight victory and improves to 9-0 at home for the first time since the 2006-07 season, the program's final NAIA season before transferring back to the NCAA Division I level. The Huskies also eclipsed the 100-point threshold for a fourth time both on the season.

In SLC play, Odunsi sits second in the league in scoring (21.4 per game), as Ibarra leads all in field goal percentage (.709) and is second in rebounding (8.3). On the season as a whole, Ibarra ranks second in the league from the field (.634), while Odunsi sits fourth in scoring (17.0 per game) and ranks eighth at the NCAA Division I level with 158 made free throws.

Freshman Isaiah Robinson leads the conference in blocks (2.25 per game), tied for third in the country among all freshman and 30th overall.

The Bearkats enter the weekend at 11-10 overall (6-2 SLC) under head coach Jason Hooten and are coming off a 72-51 win over Abilene Christian on Monday. Junior Aurimas Majauskas leads the SHSU with 14.5 points per game, while sophomore Jamal Williams averages 4.4 assists per contest.

Following Saturday's tilt, HBU will visit Abilene Christian in a 7 p.m. tip on Tuesday.
