Postgame Quotes – Head Coach Ron CottrellOpening comments…"I thought it was important for us to come out, clamp down defensively and really do a good job against their scorers. They got some guys who can really shoot the ball. Early on, we didn't do as good of job containing them like we needed to, but I thought we started playing the way we needed to defensively midway there through the first half. "Overall, we shot the ball well and did a good job of getting the ball inside to Josh (Ibarra). I was excited about the way the guys finished the game, particularly there in the second half." On Isaiah Robinson's performance off the bench…"He has probably played more minutes than he would have otherwise with the injury to Cody Stetler, but it has really been a blessing in disguise for his development as a freshman. He has been able to get in there and get used to the game, which has been a great thing for our defense. He brings a different element and makes it tough for players to get to the rim. It is a major plus for us as a team to have three bigs in him, Josh Ibarra and Cody Stetler, who can impact the game." On opening Southland Conference play…"Everything we have done to this point in our non-conference schedule has been to prep up for the Southland Conference race. This is a tough conference and one that is filled with terrific athletes and coaches. I have a lot of respect for every program in our league. "On Saturday, we go to Northwestern State, our first trip there as a conference opponent. They will be a different task for us, but we are excited to get going. I think our guys are as prepared as we need to be."
