MBB: HBU Visits Arizona State on Saturday

TEMPE, Ariz. – The HBU men's basketball team will look to extend their two-game winning streak, visiting Arizona State in a 1:30 p.m. tip on Saturday. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Network with Daron Sutton handling play-by-play and Matt Muehlebach providing color commentary, while the Legacy Sports Network with Lonnie King will carry the audio broadcast on HBUHuskies.com.
 
HBU (4-6) is coming off a 72-59 win over UC Riverside on Tuesday. Senior Anthony Odunsi posted his second double-double of the season with 18 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. Sophomore Josh Ibarra joined Odunsi with 18 points, a season-high, while adding seven boards and two blocks. Senior Jourdan Stickler (13) and junior Reveal Chukwujekwu (11) also finished in double figures.
 
On the season, Ibarra is tied for second in the Southland Conference in field goal percentage (.600) and ranks seventh in blocks (1.4 per game), while freshman Isaiah Robinson is sixth (1.43 per game). Odunsi is seventh in the league in field goal percentage (.531), eighth in assists (3.7 per game), tied for 10th in free throw percentage (.820) and leads the team with 13.8 points per game. Senior Jourdan Stickler is 10th the SLC in 3-point field goal percentage (407). Freshman Asa Cantwell leads HBU with 14 hits from 3-point land.
 
The Sun Devils are off to a 7-3 under head coach Bobby Hurley with wins over Belmont (83-74), Kennesaw State (91-53), NC State (79-76), UC Santa Barbara (70-68), Creighton (79-77), then No. 18 Texas A&M (67-54) and, most recently, UNLV (66-53). ASU's three losses have come at the hands of Sacramento State (66-63), Marquette (78-73, OT) and then No. 5 Kentucky (72-58). The Sun Devils have three players averaging double figures in scoring in sophomore Tra Holder (13.1), junior Savon Goodman (12.4) and senior Gerry Blakes (11.6).
 
Following Saturday's tilt, the Huskies will enjoy the holiday break and not be back in action until December 29 when they host Ecclesia at 7 p.m.
