HBU (2-6) is coming off an 82-57 loss at Michigan on Saturday, Dec. 5. Junior
Reveal Chukwujekwu led all with a game-high 10 rebounds, crashing the glass for nine on the defensive end to tie his season-high. Senior
Anthony Odunsi led the team in scoring against the Wolverines, recording 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting and a 3-for-3 showing from the free throw line, extending his consecutive shots made at the charity stripe to his last 15 attempts. Sophomore
Josh Ibarra finished with 10 second-half points.
On the season, Ibarra ranks fourth in the Southland Conference in field goal percentage (.574), while Odunsi sits seventh (.530). Odunsi is also ninth in assists (3.5 per game) and 11th in both scoring (13.4 per game) and free throw percentage (.814). Senior
Jourdan Stickler is 8-for-8 from the free throw line, while freshman
Asa Cantwell is 6-for-6 and leads HBU with 13 hits from 3-point land.
The Huskies and Patriots (2-5) will meet for the fourth time in program history when the two teams take the court on Saturday. HBU leads the all-time series, 3-0, having hosted ABC each of the last three seasons. The Huskies claimed a 100-61 victory in the 2012-13 season and have since followed with 107-55 (2013-14) and 99-84 (2014-15) wins the last two years.
The Patriots will play one game before visiting HBU, hosting Ozark Christian College at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Following Saturday's action, the Huskies will play two games next week. HBU hosts UC Riverside on Tuesday, December 15, before making a visit to Arizona State on Saturday.
