HBU shot 39.6 percent from the field, only 2-for-13 from deep, and 12-for-18 from the line. The Broncs scored the first five points of the game, leading the game wire-to-wire. Odunsi and Lasher answered with baskets to get the Huskies to within one, but a three by Okereafor and a layup by Zedric Sadler put Rider back up by six. Okereafor made a three to extend Rider's lead to 17-9 with 13:56 remaining in the first half, but HBU scored seven of the next eight points to get back within two at the midway point. The Huskies would go nearly five minutes without scoring as the Broncs scored nine-straight to take a 27-16 lead. Odunsi ended the drought with a layup at the five-minute mark, but Rider led by as many as 16, before settling for a 36-22 lead going into the break.
A three by freshman guard
Asa Cantwell with 15:35 remaining cut HBU's deficit to 11, but Rider maintained a double-digit margin throughout the second half. Okereafor's triple with 3:43 left game the Broncs their largest lead of the game at 18, but the Huskies outscored them, 11-4, to end the game.
The Huskies will have a week off before returning to action when they host cross-town rival Rice Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Sharp Gym.
