The last time the Huskies played a regular season game on a Thursday was Oct. 21, 2010, as HBU defeated visiting Oral Roberts, 2-1.
UIW leads the all-time series, 5-2-0, and won the home-and-home last season: 3-0 in San Antonio and 2-0 in Houston.
After starting conference play with two road losses, HBU (7-6-1 overall, 3-2-1 WAC) is currently on a four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1) following a 2-2 tie against UMKC Oct. 16 and a 2-1 double overtime win at Air Force two days later; the first win in Colorado in five years.
Marcelo Acuna scored three of the four goals - including Sunday's golden goal - and is T-21st nationally in goals (8) and T-29th in points (26). His four game winners place him T-7th among the nation's best.
George Kelley is another piece of the explosive Huskies' offense, as he has 14 points on six goals and two assists. In goal,
Chance Pope has seen the majority of action lately and is 6-1-1 with a 1.12 GAA (5th in the WAC), a .771 save percentage (3rd), and two shared shutouts.
Incarnate Word (6-6-0, 2-4-0) snapped a three-game losing skid with a 4-2 win over Grand Canyon Friday, but was on the wrong end of a 5-1 result two days later at UNLV. Noah Keats leads the team with 19 points on eight goals and three assists. Dylan Kelly, who registered a hat trick against GCU, is second on the team with 14 points and is tops with six assists. Between the pipes, Kieran O'Boyle is 5-4-0 with a 1.49 GAA (8th in the WAC), a .768 save percentage (4th), and two shutouts (T-5th).
Following the mid-week contest, HBU returns home next weekend to host CSU Bakersfield Friday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and San Jose State Nov. 1 at 1:00 p.m. on "Senior Day Sunday."
