Ron Cottrell would like to invite Huskies fans to the HBU Tip-Off Club's third annual Kickoff Event on Saturday, Oct. 24.
Fans will get their first chance to hear about the upcoming 2015-16 season in a brief program taking place before the home HBU football game against Southeastern Louisiana at 2 p.m.
The free event will get underway with a reception, beginning at 11 a.m., at McNair Hall inside Morris Cultural Arts Center on the HBU campus. Hors d'oeuvres and a barbeque lunch will be provided before a brief program where HBU President Dr. Robert B. Sloan, Jr., Tip-Off Chairman Corey Thomas, special guest speaker Jeff Van Gundy and Cottrell will address those in attendance.
Van Gundy, no stranger to the HBU program and often seen in the stands at Sharp Gym when his schedule permits, is a current basketball analyst for ESPN. Prior to making the move to TV, Van Gundy served as a NBA head coach with the New York Knicks (1996-2001) and Houston Rockets (2003-2007).
