Men's Hoops Looks to Right Ship vs. SE Louisiana

HOUSTON - HBU wraps up its short homestand with a Southland Conference matchupagainst Southeastern Louisiana Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Sharp Gym. The Legacy Sports Network broadcast with Lonnie King will be available on HBUHuskies.com.
 
Sophomore guard Rob Lewis leads the Huskies (4-15, 1-6 SLC) with 11.1 points per game, while junior guard Tyler Russell adds 10.3 and sophomore forward Cody Joyce adds 10.2 points per game. Sophomore forward Caleb Crayton is averaging 12.3 points per game over HBU's last six games. Sophomore forward Dauson Womack leads the Huskies on the glass with 5.1 rebounds per game, and junior guard Marcel Smith paces the team with 59 assists.
 
JaMichael Hawkins leads SELA (8-10, 3-4) with 14.2 points per game, while Antonio Benton averages 12.2 points per game and leads the Lions with 7.1 rebounds per game. The Lions also have six other players averaging at least six points per game.
 
HBU fell to New Orleans, 79-66, Thursday night, while SELA lost at second-place Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 74-71.
 
The all-time series between HBU and SELA is tied, 2-2, with the Huskies claiming the last meeting, 40-35, on Feb. 7, 1983 in Houston.
 
The Huskies return to action and beging a four-game road swing through Texas against Lamar Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Beaumont. HBU will then face Sam Houston State, Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word, before returning home for six of its last seven.
