JaMichael Hawkins leads SELA (8-10, 3-4) with 14.2 points per game, while Antonio Benton averages 12.2 points per game and leads the Lions with 7.1 rebounds per game. The Lions also have six other players averaging at least six points per game.
HBU fell to New Orleans, 79-66, Thursday night, while SELA lost at second-place Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 74-71.
The all-time series between HBU and SELA is tied, 2-2, with the Huskies claiming the last meeting, 40-35, on Feb. 7, 1983 in Houston.
The Huskies return to action and beging a four-game road swing through Texas against Lamar Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Beaumont. HBU will then face Sam Houston State, Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word, before returning home for six of its last seven.
