SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Houston Baptist stood toe-to-toe to San Diego in every statistical category except the most important one: the score. USD scored a single goal in each half to dismiss the Huskies, 2-0, Sunday evening from the SDSU Sports Deck on the final day of the Courtyard Marriott SD Central Soccer Tournament.

USD outshot HBU, 12-11, and 7-5 in shots on goal. Both teams had three corner kicks.

The Toreros struck first, as Patrick Wallen scored in the 11th minute, assisted by Conor McFadden. Wallen's shot found the lower left part of the net.

Eli Galbraith-Knapp made it 2-0 USD as he scored, unassisted, in the 54th minute. His shot deflected off of Husky keeper Kevin Suarez and into the back of the net.

Zach Harwerth suffered the loss, making one save and allowing one goal in 17 minutes. Suarez allowed one goal in 73 minutes while making four saves. Michael D'Arrigo made five saves in all 90 minutes for the Toreros.

Christian Cruz and Kristopher Tyrpak were named to the All-Tournament Team.

HBU (2-3-0) will conclude its California trip with a visit to Berkeley to face the Cal Bears on Tue., Sept. 11 at 1:30 pm central time.
