HOUSTON – Houston Baptist's Nov. 13 game at Hawai'i in the Rainbow Classic will be televised live by ESPN at 3 a.m. CST as part of the ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon, the network announced Wednesday. The broadcast will mark HBU's first appearance on ESPN's flagship station in any sport.
“We are excited to be a part of ESPN's College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon,” HBU head coach
Ron Cottrell said. “It is a significant early-season challenge for our young team to play at Hawai'i, and the added exposure of playing a national game on ESPN is a fantastic opportunity for our program, especially in these early years of our return to Division I.”
This year marks the fifth edition of the ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon, which features 11 games during a consecutive 24-hour cycle. Coverage begins with West Virginia at Gonzaga Nov. 12 at 11 p.m. CST and concludes with Duke versus Kentucky at the Champions Classic in Atlanta Nov. 13 at approximately 8:30 p.m. CST.
HBU's complete schedule will be released later this fall.
