Basketball Returns Home Against Dallas Christian Saturday

Houston Baptist plays three of its four games before the Christmas break at home, beginning with Dallas Christian Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at Sharp Gym.

The Huskies (2-6) are led by junior forward Art Bernardi, who is averaging 17.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in two games. Freshman guard Tyler Russell has scored in double figures in the last four games and is averaging 12.8 points per game for the season. Junior forward Marcus Davis averages 12.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, while senior center Joe Latas averages 11.5 points and a team-best 7.0 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Ronald March Jr. averages 10.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Dallas Christian (2-6) is led by Isaac Gonzalez, who averages 20.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Malcolm McCarty averages 16.1 points and Roderick Johnson adds 10.6 points per contest for the Crusaders.

HBU has won all three previous meetings against Dallas Christian, including a 100-64 victory in the last meeting on Feb. 18, 2008 in Houston.

The Huskies face Campbell at home Tuesday at 7:05 p.m., before taking on 17th-ranked Creighton Dec. 17 in Omaha, Neb. HBU plays its final game before a 10-day Christmas break, at home against Santa Clara on Dec. 21.
