Huskies Dealt Tough 2-1 Loss to UTSA

SAN ANTONIO - UTSA scored two goals - including the game winner in the 89th minute - in the final 13 minutes to defeat visiting HBU, 2-1, Sunday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, the Huskies got on the board first as Kristina Burhans scored in the 69th minute. The Roadrunners tied the match seven minutes later and scored the eventual game winner in the 89th minute, on goals by Jody Leroy and Anka Grotle, respectively. Grotle's game winner came off a corner kick.

HBU was outshot 31-10, including a 14-4 differential in shots on goal. The Roadrunners also had a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Shelby Horn saw her first collegiate action and made 10 saves in all 90 minutes. Dacia Webb made two saves for UTSA in 57 minutes while Danielle Snyder made two saves and allowed one goal in the remaining 32 minutes.

HBU (1-2) will return home for its next six matches, including the home opener on Friday, September 3, against Prairie View A&M. Kick-off is set for a 7 pm start.
