BATON ROUGE, La. - The 2025 Southland Conference champion HCU women's soccer team will head to Louisiana for a first round matchup against the LSU Tigers this Friday night with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. at the LSU Soccer Stadium.
The Huskies (12-8-2) swept through the SLC Tournament in Beaumont this past week as the No. 5 seed, knocking off the fourth, second and first seeds in the tournament en route to the program's third conference title. HCU has won five-straight matches, outscoring opponents 10-1 during that stretch.
LSU (13-5-4) is coming off a heartbreaking loss on penalty kicks in the SEC Championpship match against Vanderbilt.
2025 marks the program's third NCAA Tournament appearance with the first two coming in 2014 and 2016.
Friday evening will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
